My name is Shawn and I am a home brewer.
I moved to Oak Park a year ago from Bucktown (it took almost all day!).
I brew all-grain in 15 or 20 gallon batches (10 gallon if they are 9% ABV or higher)
I have been brewing for about 20 years
I have never entered a competition (seems like a waste of beer to me!)
I love to make shit, but I love to buy shit (already made) even more
I am a nerd and that helps my beer taste better
I am a data center consultant (whatever that means)

No, I have NO creativity when naming beers - most of these were lazy attempts or conceived when I was (let's just say) altered.

Tap 4: Bespeckled Bovine (American Farmhouse - 4.8% ABV, 3.4 SRM, 19.7 IBU)
Tap 5: Hexnut Brown (American Brown - 5.2% ABV, 25.7 SRM, 27.4 IBU)
Tap 6: Jay's FMB (American Pale Ale - 5.4% ABV, 14.6 SRM, 44.7 IBU)
Tap 7: Dconn Rye IPA (Rye IPA - 7.8% ABV, 11.9 SRM, 83.5 IBU)
Tap 8: Indignant (Black Imperial IPA - 9.4% ABV, 36.0 SRM, 107.3 IBU, Nitro Pour)
Bottles: An Imperial Porter from 2007, and an American Barleywine from 2009
Fermenting: Oscar Milde - British Mild (estimates - 3.5% ABV, 25.5 SRM, 18.8 IBU)
Bright: American Barleywine (estimates - 14.5 SRM, 87.5 IBU, ~50 days in and closing in on 11.5% ABV - not trying it for a year)

An American IPA (playing with new hops and lighter color and lower alcohol - session IPA)
